Themed Villages

Previous Project – The Goat Villages, Uttarakhand

Our theme villages The Goat Village Nag Tibba& The Goat VillageDayaraBugyal have stood out as exemplary models of sustainable agro-tourism, reverse migration and integrated rural development. In keeping with our ethos of owning zero asset, we have never ventured into land holding/leasing in any of our destinations. Rather, we had taken them up as pro bono turnkey consulting projects, all the while aiming at creating self-sustaining units out of these entities. We continue to provide them with our marketing support through The Hideouts brand vertical.

Ongoing Projects

Bakri Chhap as an organisation has been working in the space of sustainable tourism and integrated rural development for the past 5 years. And after our success at the Goat Villages at Nag Tibba and DayaraBugyal, as exemplary models of sustainable agro-tourism, reverse migration and integrated rural development, we are happy to announce our upcoming eco villages at two different locations, in two states.
And when it comes to theme villages, their names depict the ethos and purpose of creation of such villages.

Located in Uttarkashi district of the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, Matholi is a nature lover’s paradise. Set against the backdrop of mountains and meadows, this quaint village boasts of gurgling streams and bountiful orchards. Visitors get to enjoy the warm and rustic hospitality of a rural farm stay, one that is predominantly managed by women. Women empowerment is a common thread that runs through the theme of this eco village too. Local women are being trained to take the lead in business, be it for the farm stays or procuring and packaging local farm produce, that will be retailed through Bakri Chhap’s FMCG vertical.
Our Co-creator at The Women’s Village is one of our managers turned agri-preneur. Through the likes of him, we are able to uphold the successful carrying out our social responsibility of empowering the rural youth and encouraging other similar stories of self-sufficiency. People like him become the role models of his area and help us carry forward our story of integrated rural development and youth empowerment.

Located in the central district of Basti in eastern Uttar Pradesh, My Mom’s Village is a departure from the deep-rooted patriarchal mindset and establishes a strong ‘pro-matriarchal’ precedence instilling an essence of ‘Women Empowerment’.

Tucked away in the 100 acres private estate, replete with orchards, fishery ponds and farmlands (including 42 acres of certified organic land bank) is a 100-year-old ancestral estate. A dozen mud house cluster will be built around the existing structure, for tourists. The place is surrounded by a healthy eco-system of flora and fauna. The rare river water dolphins are frequently sighted in The River Ghagra that runs close by. Birth place of Buddha, Lumbini; Kushinagar where Buddha left his earthly abode and Sufi Saint Kabir Das’s final resting place, Maghar are all at a driving distance. Ayodhya, birth place of Lord Rama is also in the vicinity. All these factors will create the USP of this location as one of cultural/ spiritual enrichment as well as one with access to royal experiences from the erstwhile era. Bakri Chhap will also provide marketing support to the naturally grown local produce providing a steady source of livelihood to the rural population.

Our Co-creator at The Mom’s Village belongs to the royal family of the region, one whose social equity will help mobilize the local farmers and populace in general, thus upholding our integrated rural development approach.

Stay could be organised on case-to-case basis. Contact us for more information.
